Hoeness confirms plans to hire Oliver Kahn at Bayern

Bayern München president Uli Hoeness has confirmed that Oliver Kahn is being put in position to take over an executive role at the club.
In November, Bild reported that it's only a matter a time before Bayern München will give Oliver Kahn a leading post at the club.

And, speaking at the annual general meeting on Friday, Bayern president Uli Hoeness confirmed that there are plans to hire the former German international in the future.

"The name Oliver Kahn plays a role, but this is not an issue for today and tomorrow, but for the next six to twelve months. We will not participate in any speculation in the next period of time," Hoeness said according to SID.

According to the Abendzeitung, Hoeness said that there are no plans to make Kahn the club's Director of Sport. Instead, the former goalkeeper is expected to take over the job as CEO from Karl-Heinz Rummenigge when he retires.

Rummenigge's current contract expires at the end of 2019, but Hoeness said on Friday that he expects it to be renewed by two years so it runs until 2021.

"Oliver Kahn comes into question when Karl-Heinz retires, and until then, we'll act patiently and keep him warm," Hoeness said.
