Mislintat takes dig at Kalajdzic and praises Sosa

In an interview with Kicker, VfB Stuttgart boss Sven Mislintat has reflected on the summer transfer window, criticizing Sasa Kalajdzic and praising Borna Sosa.
VfB Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat has hit out at Sasa Kalajdzic after the striker's €18 million move to Wolverhampton on deadline day.

"It took a lot of effort to find a good solution for Kalajdzic," Mislintat told Kicker and added that the 25-year-old's departure is seen as a "personal disappointment for those responsible at VfB".

Kalajdic put pressure on the club to sell him shortly before the transfer window closes by declaring himself not to fit to play against FC Köln towards the end of August.

Borna Sosa was also linked with a move away from the club, but ended up staying – and Mislintat believes the Croatian left-back has coped with the situation in an impressive manner.

"Everyone, not just Sasa, can take a leaf out of Borna's book on how he handles the situation and how clearly he formulates what [Stuttgart coach] Pellegrino Matarazzo, my humble self and the club have done for him after his first very, very difficult season."
