Florian Grillitsch had a challenging summer with reports stating that talks with several clubs broke down due to last-minute salary demands and difficulties with his father. Last week, Grillitsch signed a one-year deal with Ajax and has returned to his former representation.

In an interview with Sport1, Grillitsch stated that, "The past few weeks have not been easy for me. I read things about myself that hit me quite a bit."

Fiorentina Sporting Director Daniele Prade nearly signed the 27-year-old this summer but said, "We didn't like the father's talk and the payments he demanded. We decide who we work with."

Now, Grillitsch is back playing for former coach Alfred Schreuder in the Netherlands: "From my side, not everything went well, no question at all. I was also too naive to trust some people too quickly. Football can sometimes be a dirty business, I learned that this summer. But of course I take full responsibility for all my decisions."

The defensive midfielder featured in 178 Bundesliga games for Hoffenheim and Werder Bremen.
