Amid wave after wave of reports suggesting that FC Bayern München players are displeased with the personnel management of head-coach Julian Nagelsmann, Leroy Sané and Leon Goretzka addressed the issue in their post-match interviews on Tuesday night. In Sané's case, the German national team attacker had to explain why he took frustrations out on a water bottle shortly after Nagelsmann subbed him off in the 80th.

"It was just emotion," Sané explained afterwards, "I wasn't angry about the substitution. The bottom line is that I wanted to play better today and, thus, the water bottle had to suffer."

Sané did score a brilliant goal to seal the victory, but felt as if the first-half performance of both he and his team left much to be desired. The 26-year-old made sure to thank keeper Manuel Neuer as well as central defenders Lucas Hernandez and Dayot Upamecano for their amazing work in keeping Bayern in the game.

"[In the first half] We didn't play courageously enough," Sané noted, "As a result, they [FC Barcelona] just kept winning balls and getting chances balls and just got chances."

While Sané had to answer for the water bottle, his German national team colleague Leon Goretza was pressed to comment on rumors that there has been discontent in the FCB ranks over competition in midfield. Goretzka is presently attempting a comeback from injury.

The double-six pairing of Nationally teammates Goretzka and Kimmich--a partnership few every assumed would be torn asunder--nevertheless hasn't been reunified yet. Austrian Marcel Sabitzer retains the starting spot. Offseason signing Ryan Gravenberch wants his chance too.

Goretzka came on for Sabitzer at the half and got the chance too play a full 45 minutes next two his friend, teammate, and partner in philanthropic causes. The 27-year-old wished to emphasize that the much about the battle for midfield starting places had been overblown.

"We have no problem at all, Goretzka stressed, "I have no problem with the coach or with the fact that I didn't start today. A recent quote of mine was taken out of context and I think that was wrong.

"All these alleged problems are so contrived," Goretzka continued, "it really annoyed me. We all get along great as a team and are all content. We also also know that we have a lot of games and everyone will get their chance to play from the start."
