Svensson reacts to Brighton links

Bo Svensson has commented on reports linking him with Brighton & Hove Albion.
Mainz coach Bo Svensson has reacted to reports from England suggesting that Brighton & Hove Albion see him as a possible replacement for Graham Potter, who recently left to join Chelsea.

Speaking to Bild, Svensson left the door open to a future move to England when asked about Brighton's reported interest.

"I only know about it from the media," Svensson said continued:

"I don't have a career plan. I didn't even have that as a player.

"It is unnecessary to go into such hypotheses. You can never rule anything out.

"Should something happen, then of course it's better to do it at the end of the season."

Meanwhile, Mainz sporting director Christian Heidel has insisted that Svensson will not be leaving the club anytime soon, with the Danish coach's contract still running until 2024.

Svensson led 'Die Nullfünfer' to an impressive eight-place finish in the Bundesliga last season.

Mainz currently sit sixth with 10 points after six games.
