The Ghanaian Football Association is understood to be looking into the possibility of naturalizing Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Ghana are "pushing" to naturalize the former Celtic and Manchester City player.

21-year-old Frimpong has made four appearances for the Netherlands under-21 team, but is yet to appear for the Dutch senior side.

Frimpong is of Ghanaian descent on his mother's side. He was born in the Netherlands and moved to England at the age of seven. As such, he is eligible to play for all three countries.
