Reis touted as a possible succesor for Kovac at Wolfsburg

Thomas Reis is being touted as a possible replacement for under-fire Wolfsburg coach Niko Kovac.
Niko Kovac's future as VfL Wolfsburg coach is being questioned after a poor start to the season that has left 'Die Wölfe' 17th with just five points for seven games.

In fact, Wolfsburg are already looking at a possible successor, according to Sport Bild, who claims that Thomas Reis is seen as a candidate.

The 48-year-old was recently relieved of his duties as Bochum coach after losing the first six league games of the season.

Last season was a different story, though, as Reis impressively guided 'Die Unabsteigbaren' to a 13th-place finish following their promotion to the Bundesliga.

Reis is no stranger to Wolfsburg, having spent three years between 2016 and 2019 as coach of the club's U19 team.

Kovac remains in charge for the time being, however, but Wolfsburg need to improve in the games to come if he wants to keep his job.
