Augsburg lose Hahn long-term

High-flying FC Augsburg received a bitter blow on Thursday when it was revealed that attacker André Hahn would be lost for the rest of 2022.
After a command performance that helped Augsburg secure their third straight league win on Sunday, André Hahn will be unable to assist his team for the duration of the calendar year. FCA trainer Enrico Maaßen confirmed at a Thursday press conference that the 32-year-old had suffered a serious knee injury in Sunday's victory. Hahn's knee sustained cartilage damage, which will necessitate surgery.

The veteran Bundesliga journeyman returned to Augsburg in 2018 after stints with Gladbach and Hamburger SV. He's registered 10 goals for the Fuggerstädter during that time. In the current campaign, he made the starting XI for times and was directly involved in three goals. Ruben Vargas or potentially the versatile Mads Pedersen count as direct replacement candidates in Maaßen's current tactical constellation.
