Timo Werner has been linked with Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern München and Real Madrid among others, but RB Leipzig sporting director and head coach Ralf Rangnick remains confident the striker will stay at the Red Bull Arena.
The German international's contract runs out in 2020, and Rangnick hopes it will be possible to tie him down to a new deal in the near future.
"We've been discussing the extension of Timo's contract for some time. I'm firmly convinced that Timo will be in perfect hands with us over the next few years and that there's no reason for him to think about anything else," Rangnick told reporters at a press conference on Thursday and continued:
"Hopefully, Timo will extend his contract with us during the winter break at the latest."
Werner joined RB Leipzig from VfB Stuttgart in 2016.
