Burgstaller ruled out for the rest of the year
Schalke 04 striker Guido Burgstaller will be sidelined with an injury for the rest of the year.
Schalke 04 will have to manage without Guido Burgstaller for the rest of 2018, the club have announced.
The 29-year-old striker had to be substituted during Saturday's 1-2 loss to local rivals Borussia Dortmund after picking up a calf and achilles injury.
Burgstaller now faces several weeks on the sidelines, and it's unknown if he'll be ready for Schalke's first Bundesliga game in 2019 on January 20 against Wolfsburg.
The injury adds to Schalke's injury woes in attack with the likes of Mark Uth and Breel Embolo already sidelined.
