During the summer, Benjamin Pavard was chased by some of Europe's biggest clubs, but the French international ultimately stayed at VfB Stuttgart.

Now, about six months later, Sky reports that the 22-year-old centre-back wants to leave - and preferably already in January.

Apparently, Pavard has grown dissatisfied with life at Stuttgart during this season due to the exhausting relegation battle and the change of coach to Markus Weinzierl among other things.

Thus, Pavard is eager to join Bayern München in January. Borussia Dortmund and Napoli have also shown an interest in the centre-back, but he is said to prefer a move to Bavaria.

According to Sky, Bayern München sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic met with Pavard's agent just over a month ago, and at the time, neither of them would exclude a winter transfer.

There is an €35 million exit clause in Pavard's contract, but it won't become active until the summer of 2019. From Stuttgart's perspective, selling Pavard now would give them the option of demanding a higher fee for him.

However, Stuttgart sporting director Michael Reschke says he's reluctant to let Pavard leave in January.

"There are no considerations to let Benjamin leave during the winter break," he told Sky.

The question is, however, if it makes sense for Stuttgart to force Pavard to stay if his thoughts are already on his future move to Bayern.
