Favre: 'That was a perfect evening'

Borussia Dortmund defeated Monaco 2-0 on Tuesday evening to win the Group A of the Champions League. "That was a perfect evening," said BVB coach Lucien Favre after the game.
With a 2-0 win over Monaco on Tuesday evening, Borussia Dortmund finished first in Group A of the Champions League as they overtook the top spot from Atlético Madrid who drew 0-0 with Brugge in Belgium.

Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre made nine changes to the team that beat Schalke 04 in the weekend, and the reserves took their chance and didn't disappoint.

"That was a perfect evening. We really wanted to win this match, and if we hadn't won, we would be annoyed now, because Brugge kept Atlético in check. We dominated the game, so the win was well deserved," Favre said according to Kicker and added:

"I think every one of our players deserves a special compliment today. Anyone who played today wanted to take their chance and bring the team forward, especially as we know from experience how difficult it is in Brugge where we were lucky to win 1-0."

In their next match, Favre's troops face Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
