Trapp ecstatic to have control of Champions League fate

Frankfurt secured all three points against Marseille on Wednesday night, which means their game against Sporting next week is for a spot in the Champions League knockout round.
Eintracht Frankfurt survived several second-half scares to claim a massive win against Marseille on Matchday 5. With Tottenham's draw to Sporting, Frankfurt are tied on points with the Portuguese side who they play next week.

Speaking with DAZN following the game, Kevin Trapp acknowledged the nervy second period: "It was also exhausting for me, although I don't have to walk that much."

Reminiscing upon their Europa League triumph last season, Trapp added, "We can do finals. This will certainly be a very intense game."

A win against Sporting will earn Frankfurt an unbelievable berth into the round of 16. They must be careful, as Marseille could swoop in with a victory if Oliver Glasner's side draw.

This would take Frankfurt completely out of Europe altogether.
