Poulsen praises Werner: 'He could establish himself at all top clubs'
RB Leipzig's Yussuf Poulsen believes his striking partner Timo Werner is good enough to play for one of Europe's top clubs.
Timo Werner has drawn attention from some of Europe's top clubs with his performances for RB Leipzig and the German national team.
And according to Yussuf Poulsen, Werner's striking partner at RB Leipzig, the German international is good enough to be a success anywhere.
"He's a top player who could establish himself at all top clubs. For example, he also plays well for the national team which plays a very different style of football than we do," Poulsen told Sport Bild and went on to describe their partnership:
"Timo and I have known each other for two and a half years. We know how to make each other better even though Timo is sometimes so fast that I can't always keep up with him. At the moment, we are both playing at a good level, and we're a great match."
RB Leipzig and Werner have been negotiating over a contract extension for a while, and it's still not clear if the 22-year-old will stay or move on in the summer of 2019. Read more about his options here.
