Hamann: Bayern would have 'little chance' against Liverpool

Dietmar Hamann believes Bayern München would struggle if they came up against Liverpool in the Champions League.
Bayern München should hope to avoid facing Liverpool in the round of 16 of the Champions League, Dietmar Hamann argues.

Hamann, who played for both clubs in the past, believes Bayern would have 'little chance' of coming out on top against 'The Reds'.

"Liverpool and Atlético are the strongest of the teams that ended in second place. What Liverpool showed was amazingly impressive once again. Klopp and his team are the last opponents I'd want to face," Hamann wrote in a column for Sky and added:

"I think Bayern would have little chance against them in the round of 16. For me, Bayern are not in the extended circle of favourites for the first time in many years. 'The Reds' lost three games away from home and still progressed. Sometimes, such things trigger something very special in a team."

The draw for the round of 16 will take place on Monday. Bayern will be drawn up against Atlético Madrid, Liverpool, Tottenham, Lyon, AS Roma or Manchester United.
