Matchday 33 – team of the week (3-5-2):

Goalkeeper: Ron-Robert Zieler, Stuttgart
A convincing performance by the Stuttgart keeper who made a stunning save in the second half to keep out Mark Uth's attempt.

Central defender: Nico Elvedi, Borussia Mönchengladbach
The right-back did well in the central defense in the absence of the suspended Jannik Vestergaard. Also got himself a goal after a corner in the second half.

Central defender: Thilo Kehrer, Schalke 04
Scored both Schalke's goal in the 2-1 win over Augsburg. Also solid defensively.

Central defender: Salif Sané, Hannover 96
The defender, who will make the switch to Schalke this summer, scored and had an impressive last home game for Hannover 96 in the 3-1 win over Hertha BSC.

Right midfielder: Thomas Müller, Bayern München
Was behind two assists in Bayern's 3-1 win over FC Köln. Müller's second assist was particularly memorable. The Bayern star received the ball in the box, used his body to hold off a defender and found Robert Lewandowski who could score an easy goal.

Defensive midfielder: Omar Mascarell, Frankfurt
Tireless performance by the Spaniard who also got himself a rare goal.

Defensive midfielder: Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Mainz
Helped Mainz off to a good start against Borussia Dortmund as he made the assist for Ridle Baku's 1-0 opener with a clever backheel pass. Very dominant in the centre of the park.

Offensive midfielder: James Rodrigez, Bayern München
The Colombian midfielder was instrumental for Bayern's comeback against FC Köln. He was behind the equaliser and also made an assist.

Left midfielder: Ademola Lookman, RB Leipzig
The Everton loanee once again showed his qualities as he scored twice in the 4-1 win over Wolfsburg.

Striker: Mario Gomez, Stuttgart
Very clinical in Stuttgart's 2-0 win over Hoffenheim in which he scored both goals.

Striker: Timo Werner, RB Leipzig
The German international was given too much space by a poor Wolfsburg defense and got himself a goal and an assist.
