Bayern respond to reports suggesting Mané will miss the World Cup

With reports claiming that Sadio Mané is in line to miss the World Cup through injury, Bayern Munich have now issued an official statement on the injury sustained by Senegalese international.
Earlier today, French newspaper L'Equipe and Senegalese outlet Taggat reported that Bayern Munich star Sadio Mané is set to miss the World Cup after he picked up an injury in yesterday's 6-1 win over Werder Bremen.

In an official statement, Bayern have now confirmed that Mané suffered an injury to the head of his right fibula and that he will miss the club's last Bundesliga game of 2022 against Schalke 04 this weekend.

However, the German champions have not ruled him out of the upcoming World Cup tournament yet.

"Further examinations will follow in the coming days. FC Bayern is also in contact with the medical staff of the Senegalese Football Association," said FC Bayern in a statement.
