Bundesliga team of the week – Matchday 15

RB Leipzig's striking duo lead the line in our team of the week this time around.

Matchday 15 – team of the week (4-3-1-2):


Goalkeeper: Yann Sommer, Borussia Mönchengladbach (3)
Made a string of crucial saves to help Gladbach to a clean sheet in the 0-0 draw with Hoffenheim.

Right-back: Joshua Kimmich, Bayern München (3)
After a handful of games in the defensive midfield, Kimmich was moved to right-back for the game against Hannover, and the German international excelled there, grabbing a goal and an assist in Bayern's 4-0 win.

Centre-back: Kaan Ayhan, Fortuna Düsseldorf (2)
Scored both Fortuna Düsseldorf's goals in the 2-0 win over Freiburg. In addition to that, he found a teammate with 82 percent of his passes and won 75 percent of his duels.

Centre-back: Ermin Bicakcic, Hoffenheim (2)
Helped keeping Gladbach's offense quiet with many aggressive, effective interceptions.

Left-back: David Alaba, Bayern München (2)
Worked well together with Kingsley Coman down the left-hand side and scored a beautiful goal from distance.


Right midfielder: Danny da Costa, Eintracht Frankfurt
Delivered an energetic display in the 2-1 win against Bayer Leverkusen. Never stopped running on the right side and scored the 1-0 goal.

Central midfielder: Thiago Alcantara, Bayern München (2)
Didn't score or make any assists in Bayern's 4-0 win, but put in an excellent performance nevertheless and pulled the strings in midfield.

Left midfielder: Filip Kostic, Eintracht Frankfurt (2)
Had a key role in the 2-1 win over Leverkusen as he scored an made an assist.

Offensive midfielder: Marco Reus, Borussia Dortmund (4)
The BVB captain just keeps putting in great performances. Reus scored and was a constant threat in the 2-1 win over Werder Bremen.

Striker: Yussuf Poulsen, RB Leipzig (2)
Had an excellent start to the game against Mainz as he netted twice within the opening 19 minutes. Later, he set up Timo Werner's 4-1 goal.

Striker: Timo Werner, RB Leipzig (5)
The pacey striker gave the Mainz defence a hard time as he netted twice and made an assist in RB Leipzig's 4-1 win.
