Schweinsteiger and Khedira "shocked" after Germany's World Cup elimination

TV pundits and former German internationals Bastian Schweinsteiger and Sami Khedira were in shock after Germany's World Cup exit.
German World Cup winners Bastian Schweinsteiger and Sami Khedira were "shocked" after watching Hansi Flick's team crash out of the World Cup.

"I'm disappointed and shocked with how this went today. The national team did too little," said Schweinsteiger on ARD after Germany's 4-2 win over Costa Rica, which wasn't enough to send them through.

"It's not good enough. Statistics don't matter in the end. You have to take your opponent out of the game."

Khedira added:

"I'm disappointed. I was optimistic, I admit that. But I'm shocked. Football is not just about playing, but also about mentality and attitude."
