Kimmich: "This was the worst day of my career"
Germany and Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich says he's afraid of "falling into a hole" after suffering a second successive World Cup group stage exit.
Joshua Kimmich lamented "the worst day of his career" after Germany failed to go through from the group stages at the World Cup.
Despite beating Costa Rica 4-2 in their last group stage game, Kimmich and Germany crashed out of the tournament, as Japan won 2-1 against Spain in the other game in the group.
Kimmich, almost in tears after the game, told reporters in the mixed zone:
"This was the worst day of my career. We blew the World Cup in 2018 and the Euros last year too.
"I'm afraid I'll fall into a hole. It makes you think that these failures are connected to my person."
