New RB Leipzig sporting director Max Eberl hinted at potential departures at his first press conference in his new role today.

Among other things, Eberl was asked about Christopher Nkunku and Konrad Laimer, who have been strongly linked with moves away from the club.

Nkunku has a reported €60 million release clause in his contract and is said to have agreed a move to Chelsea.

While Eberl did not want to confirm that, he seemed to hint at a departure for the French international.

"With 'Christo', I can't confirm anything yet. But there is a lot of interest and a lot of talk with us. Accordingly, something is looming," he said.

As for Laimer, who is said to be close to a move to Bayern, Eberl conceded:

"I know that the probability [of Laimer staying] is very, very, very low.

"But maybe there is an emotional factor. He hasn't made a decision yet, as I understand it," Eberl said about the midfielder, who is out of contract in the summer of 2023.
