Italian daily La Repubblica reports that Borussia Dortmund, among many others, are interested in acquiring Argentine central midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.

Argentine World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister has many potential suitors after starting six of La Albiceleste's seven fixtures en route to their recent World Championship. The 24-year-old, currently playing for EPL side Brighton & Hove Albion, has been linked Arsenal, Chelsea, Juventus, Inter Milan, and Atletico Madrid.

Italy's La Repubblica adds Portugal's SL Benfica to this list. Interestingly enough, in a report appearing yesterday, the newspaper also claims that Borussia Dortmund are also looking at Mac Allister. While no German sources have confirmed the rumor as of yet, interest in the player would make sense as the BVB may need to begin looking for a replacement for Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham is widely expected to depart the club, at the very latest at the end of the season. FC Liverpool are reportedly prepared to pay a hefty sum for the English phenom immediately. Dortmund seek clarity on the 19-year-old's plans as soon as possible and have scheduled talks with the teenage sensation as soon as training camp begins on January 2nd.

Dortmund may not be able to secure the full amount of their reported €150 million asking price for Bellingham, but could still pocket something approaching two-thirds of that. Mac Allister could conceivably be secured for around €35-40 million. The net transfer gain for the BVB would thus be quite sizable, though selling Bellingham would obviously greatly hinder the club's sporting goals this season.
