Official: Colina signs with Augsburg

FC Augsburg confirmed the signing of their second Croatian U21 international in as many days on Saturday morning.
After introducing striker Dion Beljo yesterday, FC Augsburg have unveiled the second half of their Croatian youth international January recruitment drive. Twenty-two-year-old left-back David Colina arrives in the Fuggerstadt on a new deal good through 2027. Details on the transfer fee paid to Colina's Croat club, Hajduk Split, were not disclosed.

"FC Augsburg counts as a great opportunity for me," the player noted in a statement released by the club, "After productive discussions with club officials, I'm convinced that this is the right step. I'm now eager to get to get to know everyone and integrate myself into the team as quickly as possible."

Colina has played almost exclusively on the left-hand-side for most of his career. FCA head-coach Enrico Maaßen mostly relies upon Brazilian fullback Iago to work the left outer lane, having moved Danish left-back Mads Pedersen over to the right on many occasions. Colina may have a right to expect some minutes as the ostensibly #2 at the position on Maaßen's depth chart.
