Schalke reportedly find new central defender: Moritz "Mercedes" Jenz due in Gelsenkirchen
Italian transfer expert Gianluca di Marcio, and transfermarkt's German website, report that FC Schalke 04 have found a solution for their depleted central defensive ranks.
German centerback Moritz Jenz is reportedly poised to move to last-placed FC Schalke 04 on loan with an option to buy. The 23-year-old Berlin native currently belongs to French club FC Lorient, but plies his trade on loan with Celtic Glasgow. Two reliable sources report that Lenz's loan-stint with Celtic will be cut short and that the defender is already on his way to Gelsenkirchen.
Jenz has played 11 games this year in the Scottish Premiership, actually managing to score two league goals for the Glaswegians. He's also started all six Champions' League group stage fixtures for the Bhoys. The Tennis Borussia academy man's current estimated market value is at a career high €4 million in the latest transfermarkty listings.
Since moving to the Fulham academy in 2015, Jenz has never played in the country of his birth. Celtic's current very popular player made his professional debut for FC Lausanne-Sport in the Swiss top flight. While Jenz enjoyed a cult-following among the Celtic faithful, he fell down the pecking order after the calendar year.
