Union players react to Ajax draw: "Not a bad result"
Union Berlin's players were satisfied with their 0-0 draw against Ajax even if more was possible for them.
In a game they could have won with a little more luck, Union Berlin drew 0-0 with Ajax in Amsterdam in the first of two Europa League play-off matches earlier tonight.
Speaking after the game, Union Fischer's troops said they were content with the result even if they didn't end up with the win.
"It's not a bad result, even if more was possible. But we are strong at home and have good chances. Now we have the advantage that we have our fans behind us. We have to use that," centre-back Danilho Doekhi told RTL.
Midfielder Morten Thorsby, who had a goal ruled out for handball, said:
"I thought I used my chest. Maybe there was a bit of hand in it. It's a very good result for us. We played a good game, we are happy about the 0-0 and we know we are strong at home."
"I think we had a decent away game," added Rani Khedira.
"The handball was annoying, but still we've put ourselves in a good position," noted the defensive midfielder.
