VfB Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard will join Bayern München on a five-year deal in the summer, the German champions have confirmed.
Bayern München sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic made the agreement public at a press conference today.
"I can confirm that Benjamin Pavard will join us on a five-year deal from 1st July 2019," he said.
Reportedly, Bayern München will take advantage of a €35 million release clause in Pavard's contract with Stuttgart.
VfB Stuttgart paid €5 million to sign the 22-year-old from Lille in 2016. Since then, the defender has made 71 appearances for the Swabian club with two goals and two assists to his name.
Pavard has played 18 games for the French national team and was part of the team that won in the World Cup in the summer of 2018.
At today's press conference, Salihamidzic also confirmed Bayern München's interest in Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.
