Ginter highlights reasons for Gladbach's success this season
A system change and a new mentality are factors that can explain Gladbach's success this season, says Matthias Ginter.
Borussia Mönchengladbach have been one of the most positive surprises in the first half of the Bundesliga season. After the first 17 games, 'Die Fohlen' are sitting third in the table - nine points behind league leaders Borussia Dortmund.

Last season, Gladbach played an average season and ended up in ninth place - so what has changed? Matthias Ginter explains:
"I think it was good to say goodbye to old habits. The successful 4-4-2 system ended up being calculable. Now, we're more offensive and unified. We've developed a different mentality that makes us more resilient and harder to beat," Ginter explained in an interview with Sport Bild.
"There's so insanely much potential in our team. If we manage to stay together, something big can happen here," the centre-back said.
Ginter has recently returned to the training pitch after recovering from a fractured eye socket and jawbone.
