Official: Dortmund complete Balerdi signing
Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of Leonardo Balerdi who joins the club from Boca Juniors.
Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Argentine defender Leonardo Balerdi, the club have announced.
The 19-year-old centre-back joins Dortmund from Boca Juniors and has signed a long-term deal with the Bundesliga league leaders.
"The signing of Leonardo Balerdi is a transfer with perspective that was originally planned for the coming summer, but which has now been moved forward," Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said, as quoted on the club's website.
"Leonardo is an intelligent defender who is strong in the air and in duels. He's also good in his build-up and passing play. We are very pleased that he has chosen us and are convinced that he'll help us with his talent in the future," he added.
Borussia Dortmund have reportedly paid around €15 million to sign Balerdi.
