Could Joachim Löw take over at Real Madrid after the season?

Bernd Schuster says he will not be surprised if Joachim Löw takes over as Real Madrid coach this summer. But is that really realistic?
Former German international Bernd Schuster believes there's a real possibility that Germany coach Joachim Löw could be named coach of Real Madrid in the summer.

"It would really not surprise me if 'Jogi' Löw becomes Real Madrid coach next summer," the former player and coach of Real Madrid told Die Welt am Sonntag.

But could that really happen?

According to Bild, Real Madrid boss Florentino Perez is a big fan of Löw, and the Germany coach is fully aware of that.

"I know Perez: If he has something in mind, then he'll go through with it," Schuster said.

However, Bild claims that Löw is not thinking about leaving his job as Germany coach at the moment. The 58-year-old, who is under contract until 2022, is eager to rebuild 'Die Mannschaft' after the disappointing World Cup in Russia.

It's not out of the question that he could join the Spanish capital club in the future, though. According to Bild, Löw would only be willing to consider a job at one of Europe's elite clubs such as Real Madrid or Manchester United.

Back in December, Löw admitted that he considers Real Madrid an 'interesting club'.

"Obviously, it's an interesting club for every coach," he told ZDF.

The current coach of Real Madrid is Santiago Solari who was hired at the end of October.
