André Breitenreiter will lose his job as Hannover 96 coach after Saturday's 0-1 defeat to Werder Bremen, Kicker reports.

Hannover haven't won a Bundesliga game since they beat Wolfsburg 2-1 in November, and the club bosses have decided to get rid of the former Schalke 04 coach after another disappointing performance.

According to Kicker, Markus Gisdol and Mirko Slomka are considered the main candidates to take over, but it's unlikely that a new coach will be in charge when Hannover face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

Instead, reserve coach Christoph Dabrowski or Under-19 coach Stephan Schmidt will probably take over the responsibility initially.
