Reportedly, Jerome Boateng was 'hit hard' by Bayern München coach Niko Kovac's decision to put him on the bench for Friday's game against Hoffenheim.

At the end of 2018, Jerome Boateng announced that he wanted put the past year behind him and look forward to 2019 with great anticipation.
The 30-year-old worked extremely hard during Bayern's preparation for the second half of the season and felt very well-prepared to be in the line-up for the game against Hoffenheim on Friday.
However, just a few hours before the kick-off, Boateng was informed of Bayern coach Niko Kovac's decision to begin the game with Niklas Süle and Mats Hummels in the central defence.
Thus, Boateng had to start on the bench - and he was 'hit hard' by that decision although he accepted it, Kicker reports.
Boateng replaced Javi Martinez with a few minutes to go, and as soon as the final whistle sounded, the centre-back went straight down the tunnel without saying anything.
Despite the disappointment, it's unlikely that Boateng will leave the club this month. Even if the 30-year-old could imagine a transfer himself, the club aren't willing to let him go in January.
