Kicker Report: Stuttgart prepare to ship Kuol back to Australia

Kicker Magazine's VfB Stuttgart correspondent George Moissidis reports that, after two years without much success for his German club, Australian striker Alou Kuol is headed back to his home country.
A little over two years after brining him to the Bundesrepublik, VfB Stuttgart have found themselves disappointed with the development of 22-year-old striker Alou Kuol. The once hihgly-covetted striker made just two professional appearances in Germany, once for Stuttgart as a late sub this season and once during an ill-fated loan spell with SV Sandhausen in the second division during the 2021/22 campaign.

Kuol did manage to find some success with the VfB reserves in the southern Regionalliga. He scored seven goals in 41 appearances for VfB II. Moreover, the Sudanese heritage player's famous scorpion-kick goal in last summer's U23 AFC continental championship was tapped as the best "Goal of the Year" by German public television station ARD this past January.

Despite the attacker's clear potential, George Moissidis of Germany's preeminent footballing publication reports that Stuttgart are preparing to send Kuol back to the Australian club they acquired him from, Central Coast Mariners.

No information about a transfer fee is available at this juncture. Kuol's lone Bundesliga appearance lasted just four minutes. He was sent off on a straight red during his only appearance for Sandhausen.
