Lewandowski sings Klopp's praises

Robert Lewandowski has lauded praise on his former coach Jürgen Klopp ahead of Bayern München's Champions League clash with Liverpool.
Bayern München star Robert Lewandowski has sung the praises of Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp whom he played under at Borussia Dortmund.

Speaking ahead of Bayern München's Champions League round of 16 clash with Liverpool, Lewandowski says Klopp has played a crucial part in making him the player he is today.

"He's a coach who has been crucial to my life as a footballer. I have to be thankful to him for where I am in my life right now. He's just great - as a person and as a coach. We've talked so much about football and life, and I've learned a lot from him," Lewandowski told UEFA.com and went on to elaborate what he has learned from Klopp:

"Tactically, there are a few things. But what he has given me above all is the belief that I can play at the highest level. He has awakened this idea in me and has always shown me the next step forward. I didn't know that I had such great potential."

Lewandowski joined Borussia Dortmund from Polish side Lech Poznan in 2010. He left to join Bayern München in 2014.

Bayern and Liverpool will meet in the first leg at Anfield Road on February 19 while the second leg will take part at Allianz Arena on March 13.
