Report: Bayern eye Schalke starlet

Bayern München are said to be keeping an eye on Schalke 04 youngster Ahmed Kutucu.
Schalke 04 starlet Ahmed Kutucu has attracted interest from Bayern München, Bild understands.

According to the German tabloid, Bayern academy manager Hermann Gerland personally watched Kutucu play several times before the 18-year-old even made his debut for the first team.

Fussballtransfers.com has previously reported of Bayern's interest in the young striker as well.

Additionally, after Kutucu scored a brace for Schalke's under-19 team in a 4-2 win over Bochum in December, Gerland described him as a 'good player' in an interview with Funke Sport.

Kutucu, who has scored two goals in six appearances for Schalke's senior team this season, only just signed a professional contract until 2022 last week.

He may get the chance to impress Bayern even more when Schalke are up against the German champions in the Bundesliga this weekend.
