Markus Weinzierl will remain in charge as VfB Stuttgart head coach for the upcoming game against RB Leipzig.

The 44-year-old's future has been questioned after the 0-3 defeat to Fortuna Düsseldorf on Sunday, but he has now been backed by Stuttgart sporting director Michael Reschke.

"He will lead the training today and this week, and he will sit on the bench against Leipzig," Reschke told DPA.

Weinzierl took over as Stuttgart coach in October 2018 after Tayfun Korkut was sacked by the club.
