Reschke will be replaced by the former Stuttgart player Thomas Hitzlsperger who has been appointed as the club's new head of sport.
"In my new role as head of sport, I will do my utmost to avoid relegation and at the same time set the course for a successful future with a strong team. I'd like to thank our president and the supervisory board for the trust placed in me, and I look forward to this great task," Hitzlsperger said.
Reschke has worked as the sporting director of VfB Stuttgart since August 2017.
