Sané posts statement on World Cup exclusion

Leroy Sané has now announced a statement regarding his exclusion from the German World Cup squad.
After it was announced yesterday that Leroy Sané were among the players who were axed from Joachim Löw's final World Cup roster, the Manchester City winger has now released an official statement on the matter.

In a message on Twitter, Sané says thanks for all the encouraging messages that he has received and wishes his German teammates good luck at the World Cup in Russia.

"Thank you so much everyone for your encouraging messages yesterday and today. I'm obviously disappointed I won't participate in the World Cup, but I have to accept this decision and I'll give it my all to bounce back stronger! Nothing but the best of success to the DFB Team in Russia. Go get that title!," the statement reads.

Sané was one of four players who were axed from the World Cup squad. The others were Freiburg's Nils Petersen and Leverkusen's Bernd Leno and Jonathan Tah.
