Bayern crash out of the Champions League
Liverpool knocked Bayern München out of the Champions League with a 3-1 win in Munich.
Bayern München are out of the Champions League after the German champions suffered a 1-3 defeat to Liverpool at Allianz Arena tonight.
Liverpool went ahead midway through the first half. The ball was chipped over Bayern's defence to Sadio Mané who took a couple of clever touches to outsmart Manuel Neuer, who came out of his goal, before audaciously chipping the ball into the back of the net.
But it was all square at the break after Joel Matip sent the ball into his own net after 39 minutes as he tried to prevent a Serge Gnabry cross from reaching Robert Lewandowski.
'The Reds' brought themselves in front again after 69 minutes as Virgil van Dijk powered a header past Manuel Neuer following a corner. And with 84 minutes on the clock, Sadio Mané nodded in his second goal to make it 3-1 after he was cleverly set up by Mohamed Salah.
The first leg at Anfield ended 0-0 which means Liverpool go through to the quarter-finals with 3-1 on aggregate.
