Speaking to BVB TV, the 18-year-old reflects upon his development as a player since making his Bundesliga debut against Eintracht Frankfurt in October 2017.
"German football is very competitive. When I first came, I never knew it was like this. When I first played, it was really physical. I remember my first dribble. I got pushed to the ground against Frankfurt. That was kind of embarrassing. After that I just told myself I need to be more sharp and quicker on the ball," Sancho explains.
With his entertaining playing style, the English winger has become a very popular player at Signal Iduna Park. But although Sancho likes to have fun on the pitch, he underlines that it's important for him to always maintain a level of seriousness.
"I have a lot of fun. That's what football is about. I try to make it as fun as possible. But obviously it's also serious at the same time. I can't always mess around," he said.
Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in the summer of 2017.
