Rangnick confirms RB Leipzig are close to signing Brazilian youngster

RB Leipzig have 'largely' agreed a deal to sign 18-year-old Luan Cândido from Brazilian side Palmeiras, says club boss Ralf Rangnick.
RB Leipzig sporting director and head coach Ralf Rangnick has revealed that 'Die Roten Bullen' are close to completing a deal for Luan Cândido who plays for Palmeiras in Brazil.

The Bundesliga club have been heavily linked with the 18-year-old left-back recently, and Rangnick now confirms that the deal is close to completion.

"We are largely in agreement with the player and the club," Rangnick told Kicker.

The transfer fee is understood to be €8 million, but it could potentially rise to €10 million with bonuses. A medical is expected to take place this week.

Rangnick describes the 18-year-old - a Brazil under-20 international - as 'an all-rounder for the left side'.

Luan Cândido could become RB Leipzig's second summer signing following the announcement in January that Hannes Wolf will make the move to Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg in July.
