Bentaleb will keep training with the U23's until further notice
Nabil Bentaleb remains suspended despite explaining that he wasn't present for his club's game against RB Leipzig, because his wife was giving birth.
Just over a week ago, Nabil Bentaleb was demoted to train with Schalke 04's under-23 team for disciplinary reasons.
The central midfielder wasn't able to play against RB Leipzig on March 16 due to an injury, but was expected to watch the game at Veltins-Arena along with the rest of the injured players.
Bentaleb chose not to show up and didn't inform the club why initially, but he later explained on Twitter that he wasn't present, because his wife was giving birth to the couple's twins.
Despite that, Bentaleb will not return to training with the first team at this point, says Schalke 04 interim coach Huub Stevens.
"I congratulated him, but the stand is the same," Stevens told Bild.
