Johannes Eggestein turned down Bayern to follow in the footsteps of his brother
Apparently, Johannes Eggestein rejected a move to Bayern München in the past and chose to join his brother at Werder Bremen instead.
In 2013 - as a young teenager - Johannes Eggestein joined Werder Bremen from TSV Havelse.

According to Kicker, the 20-year-old also attracted interest from Bayern München at the time, but he chose to join Werder, because his brother Maximilian Eggestein, 22, already played there.
"For me, it was clear to go to Werder where 'Maxi' already was and where he had collected good experiences," Johannes Eggestein told Kicker.
The 20-year-old says he has generally benefitted hugely from having an older brother.
"It was always an advantage to have a big brother. Not just football wise, but also in school, for example," Johannes Eggestein said and added:
"He had already gained experience everywhere, and I could benefit from it. That's why I found things a little easier."
Both Johannes and Maximilian Eggestein recently extended their contracts with Werder Bremen.
Johannes Eggestein has made 24 appearances this season with four goals and three assists to his name.
