Schalke want to tie Nübel down to a new deal
Schalke 04 boss Jochen Schneider is hopeful Alexander Nübel wants to sign a new deal with the club.
Alexander Nübel has attracted a lot of attention with his impressive performances for Schalke 04 recently.
The young goalkeeper is out of contract in 2020, but Schalke hope to tie him down to a new deal, says the club's head of sport, Jochen Schneider.
"We're doing everything we can to make Alex stay long-term. He should be one of the new faces of Schalke," he told Bild.
Nübel, 22, started out the season as Schalke's reserve keeper behind Ralf Fährmann, but has emerged as the club's first-choice option as the season has progressed.
