Max Eberl to become Bayern's head of sport in 2020?

Gladbach boss Max Eberl is being linked with the position as Bayern München's head of sport once again.
Bayern München are considering hiring Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl in 2020, Sport Bild understands.

The Bavarians already offered Eberl a position at the club back in 2017, but the 45-year-old ultimately decided to stay at Gladbach and extended his deal until 2022.

However, apparently, with the position as head of sport at Bayern currently vacant, the German champions still haven't given up on Eberl.

Bayern president Uli Hoeness is said to be particularly keen on hiring Eberl who could become a member of the board in 2020 along with Oliver Kahn who's expected to take over the role as CEO from Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in 2021.

Alternatively, Bayern could extend the cooperation with sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic, whose contract runs until 2020, and promote him to the head of sport position.

Under all circumstances, one thing is certain: Eberl and Salihamidzic will not be working together at Bayern. Salihamidzic has previously underlined that he isn't interested in working under the leadership of a head of sport.
