VfL Wolfsburg are set to announce Bruno Labbadia's successor as head coach by the end of this week, says the club's head of sport, Jörg Schmadtke.

Schmadtke is confident he has found the right man for the job after holding a series of extensive talks.

"We have had several intensive discussions, and we think we'll be able to make an announcement by the end of the week," he told SID and added:

"For us, it's important to ask different questions. Does he want to play attractive, offensive football? How does he want to occupy the space on the pitch? How does he plan to defend our goal? And how does he deal with the squad? Is he able to continue on the path that we have chosen?"

Oliver Glasner, the coach of Austrian side LASK Linz, is expected to take over the job.
