Neuer back in running training

Bayern München captain Manuel Neuer has taken a step closer to making his comeback from the calf injury he sustained earlier this month.

10 days after he picked up the injury in Bayern's 4-1 win over Fortuna Düsseldorf, the 33-year-old was back in training this morning and completed a running session.

Neuer has previously said that he eyes a return against RB Leipzig on May 11.

"Of course, I want to get fit and back between the posts as soon as possible. The Leipzig game is a realistic target," he said a week ago.

Bayern will have to manage without Neuer tonight when they face Werder Bremen in the DFB-Pokal semi-final at Weserstadion.
