Hoeness praises Kovac: 'He has done a good job'

Niko Kovac has done a good job at Bayern München so far, says club president Uli Hoeness.
Bayern München coach Kovac has had his doubters during his first season at Allianz Arena, but looking at the 47-year-old's results so far, club president Uli Hoeness feels he has done well.

Kovac's troops were eliminated from the Champions League in the round of 16 by Liverpool, but are in a good position domestically.

The Bavarians are one point clear of title rivals Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga table and reached the DFB-Pokal final by beating Werder Bremen 3-2 in the semi-final on Wednesday.

"When a coach reaches the cup final and is top of the table with four games to go in his first season at Bayern, he has done a good job," Hoeness told AZ and added that he considers it 'a very good season' if Bayern end up winning the double.

Bayern face relegation-threatened FC Nürnberg in their next game on Sunday.
