"With the championship race in England now over, I'll give Jürgen Klopp a call," Preetz told B.Z.
Grujic has been an important player for Hertha after joining the club from Liverpool on loan last summer.
The Bundesliga side have made it clear that they hope to extend Grujic's stay in Germany, and the midfielder has said himself that he can imagine staying beyond the summer.
The 23-year-old, who has reportedly attracted interest from Eintracht Frankfurt as well, has made 22 appearances for Hertha this season with five goals and one assist to his name.
