Julian Draxler says he doesn't see Germany as biggest favourite to win the European Championship in 2020.
"We will certainly not be the top favourite at the European Championship. But we definitely have the potential to play for the top spots again," the German international said in an interview with Kicker.
According to Draxler, 'Die Mannschaft' need some time to rebuild after their disappointing World Cup campaign in Russia last year.
The 25-year-old feels a new structure needs to develop following Germany coach Joachim Löw's decision to axe the experienced trio of Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng and Thomas Müller from his side.
"You can feel that a new team spirit is arising, and that we're all marching in the same direction. But I think we need a bit more time until we have a clear team structure again," Draxler said.
Germany face Estonia in their third Euro 2020 qualifier tonight after having beaten the Netherlands and Belarus in their first two qualifying games.
