Julian Brandt explains his decision to join Borussia Dortmund

Julian Brandt has explained his decision to join Borussia Dortmund from Bayer Leverkusen and talked about the differences between the two clubs.
Julian Brandt is excited about facing a new challenge after sealing a €25 million move to Borussia Dortmund from Bayer Leverkusen.

"It wasn't easy for me to leave Leverkusen. But I have the feeling that I'm up for something new. I want to prove myself again. It can do me good to deal with new challenges," Brandt told WAZ and added:

"It's a different scale - both when it comes to the fans and to international reach. And the pressure is greater at BVB - from the media as well. When Dortmund had a lot of points in the past season and then had a weak phase, it was discussed very widely.

"When we were tenth with Leverkusen, we didn't have the impression that there was outrage on the outside. The fact that it's different in Dortmund can shape me - both as a person and as a player," Brandt said.

The 23-year-old scored 10 goals and made 17 assists in 43 appearances in the 2018/19 season.
